What to Bring

  • A very large bag for preschool gear. Back packs are good.

  • Hat for outdoor activities, preferably broad brimmed (no caps, strings or cords please).

  • Appropriate footwear – joggers or sandals. Please no thongs as these are not safe for climbing, running etc.

  • A piece of fruit or vegetables, and/or healthy snack, cut up if necessary, for morning tea in a separate labelled container.

  • Lunch in a sealed labelled container, which your child can easily open, and close. A drink in an unbreakable container with a good sized cup (with a flat bottom) or a drinking straw. Popper bottles are fine but will not be sent home, they will be disposed of as well all disposable bags and wrapping. Silicone and bamboo are the types of cutlery preferred at preschool.

  • All items contrary to our nutrition policy will be strongly discouraged and replaced where possible with appropriate alternatives.

  • Nude food is encouraged and packaging in washable containers to reduce waste and our carbon footprint. Please bear in mind the size of the containers and remove lunch/morning tea containers from thermal bags so they may be stored easily in the refrigerator as room is limited. Small drink bottles at lunchtime are suggested.

  • Please note that our centre is “nut free” as we have children enrolled at risk of anaphylaxis.

  • All children to have sunscreen applied prior to arriving at preschool.

  • Please no glass, metal containers or utensils.  If cutlery is needed, please send bamboo or silicone spoons (as they can be reused) for such foods as yoghurt and cut up fruit such as oranges.

  • Suitable sun-safe clothing (no singlet tops or straps, must have shoulders covered).

  • Clothes that are easy for children to play in, remove and redress themselves at toileting times (e.g. shorts with elasticised waists, no buttons or zips unless your child can manage them independently).

  • At least one spare set of clothes and underwear, labelled clearly.

  • If you wish your child to sleep, please let staff know and bring a cot size sheet for your child to use. Children who rest enjoy using a small (cot sized) pillow or cushion easily identified by your child with their name on. Please make sure your child’s name is obvious on each item.

  • ALL items brought to the preschool are to be labelled with your child's name.
