Sue Collinson - Director, Nominated Supervisor, Early Childhood Teacher
I have been fortunate to be part of Macquarie Hills Community Preschool for over 30 years. I live locally and have 2 wonderful children who are now young adults. I enjoy being involved in our local community and getting outdoors camping, travelling and taking care of my home and extended family.
It is a special privilege to be involved in the lives of our families and to help each child on their journey from home, to preschool and to prepare them for kindergarten. I believe that children are unique and have great potential. When encouraged and guided in a secure and stimulating environment by passionate teachers they can begin to reveal their personalities and interest in the world.
Lauren Holbert - Early Childhood Teacher
My name is Lauren Holbert and I’m so excited to join the team at Macquarie Hills Community Preschool. A little bit about me - I have three year old twin daughters at home and enjoy being active, playing and spending days at the beach with them. I also love to read, paint and cook in my spare time. I have been teaching in the Early Childhood sector for just over seven years and hold a double degree in Bachelor of Teaching (Primary)/Bachelor of Early Childhood studies.
I believe early childhood is the most crucial time in an individuals life. This is the time where children develop their personalities, their attitudes towards learning and their sense of wonder and excitement. It is also a very special time where children are free to use their imaginations and be whoever they want to be. I believe that being an early childhood teacher is a very important role and to be able to facilitate, inspire, support and encourage children in their learning is very special and highly rewarding.
Kelly Harmes - Educational Leader / Room Leader
My name is Kelly Harmes. I am the mother of a wonderful son who is now a young adult. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, camping and looking after my home. I have been in the Early Childhood Sector for over 20 years and have held a Diploma qualification since 2006.
I believe that my role in the life of a child is one of guidance and trust. I feel that the relationships forged are an integral component of childhood development. I strive to create an environment where a child feels comfortable and secure enough to reach their full potential. All children are unique and celebrating this individuality is a strength in early childhood services. I look forward to creating strong relationship with both children and families.
Jodie Sliwa - Educator
Hi my name is Jodie Sliwa.
I am a proud mother of two young boys that along with my family are my world.
I have held my Diploma in Community Services since 2004 and have worked as an educator and in the industry for many years in a variety of roles and positions.
I am very passionate about early childhood education and find working with children to be both rewarding and satisfying.
Children to me are strong and capable and unique individuals and should feel safe and secure in their environment.
It is through child's play that they create and explore. Supportive educators allow children to gain life skills to prepare them for when they transition to the next stage of their development.
Samantha Meredith - Educator
Hi my name is Samantha Meredith and I hold a Diploma in Children's Services. I have been working as an educator for 5 years now. I enjoy doing anything involving messy play, art, the Munch and Move program, and music. I enjoy being outdoors, drawing, spending time with my family and walking my puppy dogs Jed and Trevor.
As a passionate educator I believe every child is unique and individual. I believe encouraging self identity and confidence is important. I believe children deserve a positive, fun and nurturing environment to help them grow and develop. I believe children learn and grow through both play based learning opportunities and with the support of educators.
I believe that family input is very important as the child's family is their first source of learning and influence in their lives. Supporting families and the community around us helps to build positive relationships.
I look forward to building a positive and strong relationship with both children and their families, and being apart of all children's areas of development.
Jessika Vidler - Educator
Hi, my name is Jessika Vidler and I hold a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, and am currently studying towards my Diploma. I'm almost finished! I have been an Early Childhood educator for almost 4 years now and I have adored every second of it. I love to challenge myself physically and mentally. During my spare time you will find me either travelling around with my partner, always finding new places to explore, with my family at the beach, BBQ lunches with my friends or rugged up reading one of my many favourite books.
I believe all children are magical, unique and each child has the right to blossom and explore in their own way. As an educator I believe that I am here to guide children to find themselves in the world. I love to see children become confident in themselves and the world around them. I ensure that I create a warm and safe environment for the child to achieve the confidence they deserve. My goal as an educator is to help children reach their full potential but also have a lot of fun along the way!
I look forward to working with the families and children of the service to create the best possible environment!
