Sue Collinson - Director, Nominated Supervisor, Early Childhood Teacher
I have been fortunate to be part of Macquarie Hills Community Preschool for over 35 years. I live locally and have 2 wonderful children who are now young adults. I enjoy being involved in our local community and getting outdoors camping, travelling and taking care of my home and extended family.
It is a special privilege to be involved in the lives of our families and to help each child on their journey from home, to preschool and to prepare them for kindergarten. I believe that children are unique and have great potential. When encouraged and guided in a secure and stimulating environment by passionate teachers they can begin to reveal their personalities and interest in the world.
Lauren Holbert - Early Childhood Teacher
My name is Lauren Holbert and I’m so excited to be part of the team at Macquarie Hills Community Preschool. A little bit about me - I have twin daughters at home and enjoy being active, playing and spending days at the beach with them. I also love to read, paint and cook in my spare time. I have been teaching in the Early Childhood sector for just over eight years and hold a double degree in Bachelor of Teaching (Primary)/Bachelor of Early Childhood studies.
I believe early childhood is the most crucial time in an individual’s life. This is the time where children develop their personalities, their attitudes towards learning and their sense of wonder and excitement. It is also a very special time where children are free to use their imaginations and be whoever they want to be. I believe that being an early childhood teacher is a very important role and to be able to facilitate, inspire, support and encourage children in their learning is very special and highly rewarding.
Kelly Harmes - Educational Leader
My name is Kelly Harmes. I am the mother of a wonderful son who is now a young adult. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, camping and looking after my home. I have been in the Early Childhood Sector for over 20 years and have held a Diploma qualification since 2006.
I believe that my role in the life of a child is one of guidance and trust. I feel that the relationships forged are an integral component of childhood development. I strive to create an environment where a child feels comfortable and secure enough to reach their full potential. All children are unique and celebrating this individuality is a strength in early childhood services. I look forward to creating strong relationships with both children and families.
Stacey Galloway - Educator
Hi my name is Stacey Galloway and I am excited to be part of the team at Macquarie Hills Community Preschool. I enjoy baking, watching movies, spending time with friends and family and swimming.
I have been working in the childcare industry for 15 years and have held a diploma qualification since 2011.
Working with children is a pleasure for me and I feel passionate about facilitating children in engaging spontaneous and intentional experiences. These experiences encourage and extend positive and confident beings which develop over the years. I am excited to play an integral part in your child’s learning to help them gain the skills they need and to help shape their life to become the best person they can be.
