Healthy Eating

A healthy diet is more than what to eat or what not to eat. It includes plenty of water and enough protein for growth and cellular repair. It is important that children get adequate amounts of carbohydrates for their high energy levels. Children’s diets should also provide enough iron, calcium and vitamin D to strengthen blood and bones as well as zinc and magnesium to support the immune system. All of these nutritional requirements can be met through a diet high in fruits, vegetables grains and dairy. At Macquarie Hills Community Preschool we encourage parents to provide their children with a healthy balanced diet in order to ensure that their child is getting all the essential vitamins, minerals and other nutrients in order for healthy growth and development.
