Reflective Practice

Reflective practice is used to examine what we do well and what we could do better. Educators who regularly reflect on what they do and why they do it are building knowledge and understanding, using it to improve their practice and, in turn, are achieving better outcomes for children and families.

Critical reflection involves closely examining all aspects of events and experiences from different aspects. The educators at Macquarie Hills Community Preschool attended an Inspired EC training on Tuesday 6th March on Reflective Practice. The training involved understanding the difference between evaluation and reflection, examples of reflective questions, ways to reflect and the importance of reflective practice. Through continual reflection the staff at Macquarie Hills Community Preschool will continue to seek ways to improve what we already do and challenge our thinking about our everyday practice to further the benefits of our children.
