There has been a growing interest with the sea shells in the book room this week. Emerson B, Lawson, Chase, Liam and Kaiden have been exploring different sounds that come from the shells, identifying the differences such as the pitch of the sound and the shape of the shell. The children discussed how they thought shells make sound and where the sound might come from. The children learnt the sounds from inside the sea shells are made from the sounds all around us. They echo into the sea shells and bounce back out again and that’s what we can hear.
Children develop dispositions for learning such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commitment, enthusiasm, persistence, imagination and reflexivity.
